The Motor Maxs Prestige Collector s Series has created this beautifully World War II replica of Lockheed Martins P 38 "Lightning" that is made of high quality die cast metal and realistic detailed military markings. The P 38 comes with its own sleek black stand showcasing the P 38s with a panoramic unique display embracing the reputation of the P 38 as a revolutionary fighter for the time and one of the most important American fighter aircraft of World War II. During that era the twin boom and turbo superchargers engines on the P 38 made it the fastest fighter plane in the American Arsenal. The tricycle landing gear made it one of the leading planes in our aviation history. The first models of the Lockheed Martins P 38 "Lightning" was accepted by the Army Air Force in October 1941 and by the end of the war nearly 10 000 had rolled from the production lines. On April 18 1943 a flight of P 38s downed Japans great naval strategist Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto while he was flying on an inspection tour of the Solomon Islands. Due to its unusual configuration the Lightning was dubbed the fork tailed Devil by the Luftwaffe and two airplanes with one pilot by the Japanese grudging respect earned by its formidable appearance and reputation. *The P 38s is 7 inches long 3 12 inches tall (on the stand) or 2 (without stand) and has a wing span is of 10 inches*

Joseph L. Mankiewicz's bittersweet, sparkling romance between a young widow and a sea captain's ghost weaves a magical tale of immortal love. Determined to live her life the way she wants, newly widowed Lucy Muir (Gene Tierney) declines her straitlaced in-laws' demand that she live with them and moves with her daughter (a young Natalie Wood) to the seaside into a cottage haunted by the handsome, blustering Captain Gregg (Rex Harrison). A deal is struck between the two in the wee hours of the morning allowing Lucy to stay in the house and the captain to materialize only in the master bedroom. As they gradually get to know each other better, Lucy's spunk and stubbornness gains first the captain's grudging respect, then his heart. But when another man woos Lucy, both must face that her future lies with the living, not in the spirit world.A timeless romantic favorite, THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR subtly traces the complex development of friendship and love, themes that director Mankiewicz excels with in films such as A LETTER TO THREE WIVES and ALL ABOUT EVE, projecting a keen understanding of the tangled emotions and motives that compel people toward their fates. The film is based on the novel by R.A. Dick and scored by Bernard Herrmann. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only. All rights reserved.

Wales, 1198. A time of treachery, passion, and uncertainty. King Maelgwyn ap Cadwallon, known as Noble, struggles to protect his small kingdom from foes outside and inside his borders. Pressured into a marriage of political convenience, he takes as his bride the young, headstrong Isabel Mortimer, niece of his powerful English nemesis. Through strength of character, Isabel wins her husband's grudging respect, but finds the Welsh court backward and barbaric, and is soon engaged in a battle of wills against Gwirion, the king's oldest, oddest, and most trusted friend. Before long, however, Gwirion and Isabel's mutual animosity is abruptly transformed, and the king finds himself as threatened by loved ones as by the enemies who menace his crown. A masterful novel by a gifted storyteller, The Fool's Tale combines vivid historical fiction, compelling political intrigue, and passionate romance to create an intimate drama of three individuals bound - and undone - by love and loyalty.
