A novel idea, indeed. However, Gore already beat us to it with its Phantom 2.0 SO Jacket. When the weather permits, you can wear it as a full jacket, but while in more temperate conditions, the sleeves are removable for the perfect amount of coverage. One jacket to rule them all. To provide the utmost protection from the elements, Gore constructed its Phantom 2.0 jacket from a sophisticated blend of fabrics. Each region has been thoughtfully considered, and because of this, the Phantom 2.0 is equal parts protection, comfort, and flexible. Starting with the body of the jacket, Gore used its patented Windstopper Soft Shell membrane. As its name suggests, this material makes the jacket 100% windproof. However, the name doesn't allude to its water-resistance or high breathability. That's right, with the comfort and weight of a mid-layer, and the protection of a shell, this material will keep you dry from both the rain and your own sweat. And while the material is extremely malleable, Gore also incorporated integrated stretch panels into the Phantom 2.0. This permits a full range of movement, whether you're stretched over the hoods or reaching down into the drops.
